The other stallion we are using this year is
CHANDLERS
WARREGO by "Warrenbri David" out of "Russell Park Drift".
His bloodlines include Warrenbri Romeo, Nabinabah Gunner (full brother
to N. Breezette), Berrico Matruh and Springfield Majestic. Warrego goes
back to Gibbergunyah and Jack who were remount sires to India and
Palestine (WW1) and we hope to find more remount and pioneer links and
stories as we gather more information and photos from their family
records. We were very fortunate in being able to lease this stallion
from Katherine (Northern Territory) and to have him arrive just before
the standstill imposed by the Equine Influenza outbreak.
Warrego played polo for a season and showed great promise in
campdrafting before injury cut short his career. This beautiful black
15.1 hh heritage stallion is a proven sire especially of polo and
polocrosse horses. His 2008 foals have been of excellent quality and
temperament (see our Foals 2008 page) and we look forward to this years
foals.
One of his outstanding traits is his calm, quiet sensible temperament
which he passes on to all his progeny. Our thanks to Calvin and Susan
Chandler for the lease of the outstanding horse – Calvin’s family have
been breeding horses for many generations, as well as having relatives
serve in the Light Horse.
